Corporation Tax Act 2009 section 104Q

Total amount of company's PAYE and NIC liabilities

Section 104Q defines how to calculate the total amount of a company's PAYE and NIC liabilities for an accounting period.

  • The total PAYE and NIC liability for an accounting period is the sum of two components: Amount A (PAYE income tax) and Amount B (Class 1 NICs).
  • Amount A is the total income tax the company is required to pay under the PAYE regulations, before any deductions are applied.
  • Amount B is the total Class 1 National Insurance Contributions the company is required to pay, again before any deductions.
  • Both Amount A and Amount B include payments relating to periods that only partly fall within the accounting period in question.
