Corporation Tax Act 2009 section 317

Carrying value

Section 317 defines the meaning of key terms used in relation to carrying value for the purposes of the preceding section on loan relationships.

  • This section provides definitions supporting the rules in the previous section about how amounts are determined for loan relationship purposes.
  • The carrying value is the value assigned to an asset or liability in the company's accounts, as recognised for accounting purposes.
  • These definitions ensure consistency in how companies measure and report amounts connected with their loan relationships for corporation tax.
  • The section was amended by Finance (No. 2) Act 2015 to update and refine the relevant definitions.
