Section 257C provides an overview of the general requirements that must be met for shares to qualify under the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS).

  • Six general requirements must all be satisfied for shares to qualify under SEIS
  • The shares themselves must meet specific criteria, and the purpose of their issue must be appropriate
  • The money raised must be spent in accordance with the rules, with no pre-arranged exits permitted
  • There must be no tax avoidance motive and no disqualifying arrangements in connection with the share issue
