Coming into force

Section 97 explains when the different parts of the Landfill Disposals Tax (Wales) Act 2017 come into legal effect.

  • Part 1 (overview) and Part 8 (which contains this section) take effect the day after Royal Assent.
  • All other provisions of the Act come into force on a date chosen by the Welsh Ministers.
  • The Welsh Ministers bring remaining provisions into force by means of a statutory instrument (a commencement order).
  • Different parts of the Act can be brought into force on different dates and for different purposes.
