Taxes Management Act 1970 section 6

Declarations on taking office

Section 6 dealt with the formal declarations required to be made by certain tax officials upon taking up their positions, but all of its subsections have now been repealed.

  • Section 6 originally required certain tax officials to make formal declarations when they took office.
  • All five subsections of this section have been repealed and are no longer in force.
  • The repeals were carried out by a series of legislative changes between 2005 and 2009, reflecting the restructuring of the tax administration.
  • The key repealing legislation included the Commissioners for Revenue and Customs Act 2005, the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007, and the Transfer of Tribunal Functions and Revenue and Customs Appeals Order 2009.
