HGV Road User Levy Act 2013 Schedule 2 paragraph 3

Authorised persons

Schedule 2 paragraph 3 allows the Secretary of State to authorise a person to represent them in certain court proceedings relating to the HGV Road User Levy Act.

  • The Secretary of State may authorise individuals to conduct and appear in legal proceedings on their behalf under the Act.
  • In England and Wales, authorised persons may appear in magistrates' courts or the county court.
  • In Scotland, authorised persons may appear in any court other than the Court of Session (i.e. in the lower courts only).
  • In Northern Ireland, authorised persons may appear in courts of summary jurisdiction or before a county court.
