Welsh public records

Section 34 ensures that records created or held by the Welsh Revenue Authority are classified as Welsh public records under the Government of Wales Act 2006.

• This section amends the Government of Wales Act 2006 to expand the definition of "Welsh public records".
• Records belonging to the Crown that are created by or held by the Welsh Revenue Authority are now included in that definition.
• This brings WRA records in line with other Welsh governmental and departmental records already covered by the 2006 Act.
• The classification means these records are subject to the same public records management and retention obligations as other Welsh government records.
