Terms of non-executive membership

Section 5 sets out the terms of office, tenure limits, resignation rights, re-appointment rules, and remuneration arrangements for non-executive members of the Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA).

  • Non-executive members serve for a period specified in their appointment terms, up to a maximum of five years per term.
  • A non-executive member may resign by giving notice to the Welsh Ministers, and may be re-appointed only once.
  • A non-executive member appointed as deputy chairperson serves in that role on the terms specified in their appointment, may resign by notice, and may be re-appointed as deputy chairperson without limit.
  • WRA may pay non-executive members remuneration and reimburse their expenses, in each case subject to the approval of the Welsh Ministers.
