Disqualification for appointment as non-executive member

Section 4 sets out which categories of people are disqualified from being appointed as a non-executive member of the Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA).

  • Members of the Senedd (formerly National Assembly for Wales), UK Parliament, Scottish Parliament, or Northern Ireland Assembly cannot serve as non-executive members of WRA.
  • Members of the Welsh Government, UK Government ministers, Scottish Government members, Northern Ireland Ministers, and police and crime commissioners are also disqualified.
  • Anyone holding office under the Crown, employed in the civil service, or serving as a member of a local authority or National Park Authority is excluded.
  • The Welsh Ministers may prescribe additional officeholders, bodies, or their members or staff who are disqualified, by way of regulations.
