Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 Schedule 4 paragraph 1

Application of Schedule

Paragraph A1 of Schedule 4 establishes that the indexation allowance provisions in the Schedule apply solely for corporation tax purposes.

  • From 2008-09, the indexation allowance Schedule applies only for corporation tax purposes.
  • Individuals, trustees and other non-corporate taxpayers are not entitled to indexation allowance under this Schedule.
  • Companies within the charge to corporation tax may still use the Schedule when computing chargeable gains.
  • This restriction reflects the removal of indexation allowance from capital gains tax for individuals and others not within the corporation tax regime.
