Section 169T introduces a chapter dealing with the ability to claim business asset disposal relief where held-over gains from a business disposal become chargeable because of events connected with Enterprise Investment Scheme or social enterprise investments.

  • This chapter (sections 169Tโ€“169V) covers business asset disposal relief claims in specific circumstances involving held-over gains originally arising from a business disposal
  • The relief applies where a chargeable event occurs under Schedule 5B (Enterprise Investment Scheme re-investment relief) or Schedule 8B (hold-over relief for gains re-invested in social enterprises)
  • The chapter was introduced by Finance Act 2015 and applies to disposals made on or after 3 December 2014
  • The relief was originally known as Entrepreneurs' Relief and was renamed to business asset disposal relief by Finance Act 2020
