Category B retirement pension for widowers – cross-reference correction

Paragraph 44 of Schedule 3 amends section 51 of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 to update an internal cross-reference relating to category B retirement pensions for widowers.

• This paragraph makes a minor consequential amendment to section 51 of the Northern Ireland social security legislation
• Section 51 deals with category B retirement pensions payable to widowers
• The amendment updates a cross-reference in subsections (2) and (3) of section 51, changing the reference from section 45A to section 45
• This is a technical housekeeping change needed because of renumbering or repeal of provisions elsewhere in the Act brought about by the Tax Credits Act 2002
