Transport Act 1982 (c 49)

Schedule 3 paragraph 9 updates the Transport Act 1982 to replace references to the old tax credits with the new tax credits introduced by the Tax Credits Act 2002, specifically in relation to seat belt exemption medical examination payments.

• Amends section 70(2)(b) of the Transport Act 1982 concerning seat belt exemption applications
• Removes references to the old working families' tax credit and disabled person's tax credit
• Inserts references to the new child tax credit (excluding the family element) and working tax credit
• Ensures that eligibility for government-funded medical examinations for seat belt exemptions continues under the new tax credit regime
