Amendment to contribution conditions provisions in Northern Ireland social security legislation

Paragraph 45 of Schedule 3 makes a minor consequential amendment to section 60 of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992, which deals with the partial satisfaction of contribution conditions.

• This paragraph amends section 60(4) and (5) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992.
• Section 60 deals with situations where a claimant fails to fully satisfy the contribution conditions for certain benefits.
• The amendment removes the cross-reference to subsection (6) so that subsections (4) and (5) now refer only to subsection (7) rather than to both subsections (6) and (7).
• This is a consequential change resulting from the introduction of tax credits, which replaced elements previously dealt with under subsection (6).
