Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 Schedule 3 Paragraph 29

The Road Traffic Act 1991 (c. 40)

Paragraph 29 of Schedule 3 updates cross-references in the Road Traffic Act 1991 so that they refer to the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 instead of the earlier Vehicles (Excise) Act 1971.

• This is a consequential amendment arising from the consolidation of vehicle excise law into the 1994 Act.
• It updates two provisions in the Road Traffic Act 1991: section 79(2)(a) and section 82(3).
• In both places, the outdated reference to the Vehicles (Excise) Act 1971 is replaced with a reference to the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994.
• The change is purely technical and does not alter the substance or effect of the Road Traffic Act 1991 provisions themselves.
