The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Paragraph 18 of Schedule 3 updates references in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, replacing outdated references to the Vehicles (Excise) Act 1971 with references to the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994.

• Sections 101(8) and 111(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 are amended to refer to the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 instead of the Vehicles (Excise) Act 1971.
• Schedule 12, paragraph 2(2)(f) of the 1984 Act is rewritten to reference the 1994 Act.
• The updated wording covers the use or keeping of a vehicle on a public road without a properly displayed licence under the 1994 Act.
• These are consequential amendments ensuring consistency across road traffic legislation following the enactment of the 1994 Act.
